Structural Alterations to New Builds, including Fit-Out Design and Support

We know at Samuely that after the structure has been built there may be a tendency for owners to make alterations, e.g. additional floors, removal of columns, new openings in slabs and walls, and for tenants to propose new layouts, including mezzanine structures and new support and load requirements.

All proposals require careful consideration by the structural engineer. At Samuely we provide specialist expertise in structural alterations to new builds and existing buildings.

This starts with an understanding of existing and proposed load paths, building condition, form and material, and assessment of available capacity in structural elements and foundations. Our knowledge of construction techniques, including temporary works, enables  buildable solutions which are safe and cost-effective.
