Assessment of Structural Systems to Footfall Vibration

Some buildings, particularly those with long spans or with light floor construction, may be  susceptible to footfall vibration.

This can be a nuisance, leading to complaints from occupants. Also, buildings housing sensitive equipment, e.g. life science labs, may impose stringent maximum vibration criteria.

Samuely uses advanced analysis techniques to assess floor behaviour and to ensure they feel comfortable and fit for purpose. When required, we are able to provide practical strategies to improve performance, such as change in material choice, structural grid, size of structural member, or addition of resilient / tuned solutions.
