SEETHING LANE

A Grade II listed building on the edge of the City of London which was originally part of the Corn Exchange. This recent overhaul included adding a new storey and a half, as well as removing a stair core in order to increase and improve the net lettable area.  This results in over 30,000 ft2 of Cat A office over 7 floors.

“The roof top view of Tower Bridge is spectacular.”

Project Engineer

The stair core was part of the buildings lateral stability structure and so its removal required us to add strategic stiffening elsewhere. The new floors are configured in steelwork to keep the additional loads to a minimum and hence not require expensive foundation strengthening.

The new top floor opens out on to a terrace with stunning views over Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. And above that the main roof includes another terrace designed for entertaining.
