HANOVER TERRACE

Hanover Terrace, overlooking Regents Park, designed by John Nash in 1822, is listed Grade 1.  This particular house had been subject to many unsympathetic alterations in the past and the current owner wanted to turn it into a family home.

When we first visited the inside was in a terrible state with ceilings missing, floors sagging and water leaking through the roof. So, we visited again to check all structural elements and developed a design strategy that kept as much of the original fabric as possible, but removing or repairing anything unsound. We also had to verify the elaborate network of beams, probably installed in secret, that propped the main internal walls up.

Working in close conjunction with the Crown Estate and the architects we have transformed the building into a light and airy contemporary house.
