TIGRIS HOUSE
A major refurbishment of a locally listed Edwardian mansion block. This retains the retail outlets at ground and basement and provides 14 luxury flats from 1st to 5th floor. Major works included the removal of the principal load bearing wall at ground floor to open-up the floor plate.
The removal of the main wall required the installation of some major steel beams and columns to transfer the existing loads down to the original foundations. By using the load path of the existing structure, we avoided the installation of new foundations.
The upper floors have been extended and enhanced, and the living accommodation has been increased by 4 units.
